:: TOKYO POLICE CLUB ::

Quando falei que encerraria a sequencia de posts sobre as promessas para 2012, registrei que voltaria a falar sobre essas bandas, claro que de forma mais pulverizada, mas faria, pois da lista que ouvi, muitas coisas merecem ser compartilhadas com vocês.

Desta vez, vou para o Canadá, mais precisamente em Ontário. Lá encontrei a banda Tokyo Police Club, que não é nova, pois foi formada em 2005, mas que merece mais inegavelmente atenção dobrada. Banda de indie rock  que surgiu em 2005 com Dave Moks (voz/baixo), Josh Hook (guitarra/bateria), Graham Wright (teclados/voz) e Greg Alsop (bateria/percussão).

E a história dos rapazes começa antes de ser Tokyo Police Club, pois Greg, Josh, Dave e Graham tinham outra banda que sempre impressionou ao vivo. Depois de alguns meses parados voltaram a se reunir e recomeçaram  a fazer música com força total.

A banda sempre surpreendeu em seus show ocasionais e a prova deste talento se deu quando foram convidados para tocar  no festival Pop Montreal. Daí por diante, as coisas começaram a melhorar,  assinaram com a Paperbag e pegaram pesado no trabalho.

Ouvir  Tokio Police Club faz você submergir com qualidade no bom “novo velho rock and roll”  a energia contida em cada faixa faz os pés ficarem inquietos pois é contagiante, as melodias são ricas em sentimento que faz qualquer um querer voar.

TPC fez shows no Brasil  em 2011, espero que tenham gostado e claro, que voltem.

When I said I would end the sequence of posts on the promises for 2012, recorded that he would return to talk about these bands, of course more spraying, but would, for the list that I have heard many things deserve to be shared with you.

Mais uma vez na "pegada" das novidades, hoje apresento um quinteto indie Londrino, Yuck.

Formado pelos colegas de escola Max Bloom na guitarra e Danny Blumberg no vocais e guitarra, pelo americano de New Jersey Jonny Rogoff na bateria e pela japonesa de Hiroshima Mariko Doi no baixo.

Os amigos Daniel e Max já se conheciam de longa data e atraves de amigos em comum conheceram Mariko que após a dissolução de sua banda na época (Levelload), se juntou a eles, em dezembro de 2009 em uma viagem a Israel, Danny conheceu o baterista Jonny que acabou deixando sua banda Impossible Village em New Jersey e foi para Londres se juntar a turma e assim formarem a Yuck

Em 2010 conseguiram uma grande notoriedade com o single de estreia "Georgia" nessa época usavam a grafia de Yu (c) k e assim lançaram tambem o Ep Rubber no mesmo ano, ambos apenas em vinil, logo fizeram turnes com Teenage Fanclub,  Dum Dum Girls, and Modest Mouse.

Seu álbum de estréia auto entitulado foi lançado em fevereiro de 2011 e conta também com uma edição de luxo possuindo 6 faixas a mais.

A banda faz um indie de primeira que soa como novidade e estilo próprio, e é nítida a influencia de bandas como Sonic Youth, Pixies, Jesus and Mary Chain etc, portanto se sua praia é essa ficará encantado.

Today I present the indie British band Yuck.

Formed by schoolmates Max Bloom on guitar and Danny Blumberg on vocals and guitar, a American from New Jersey on drums Jonny Rogoff and a japanese from Hiroshima Mariko Doi on bass.

Daniel and Max knew each other for a long time and through mutual friends met Mariko that after the dissolution of his band at the time (Levelload),  in December 2009 on a trip to Israel Danny met the drummer Jonny, and Jonny just left his band Impossible Village in New Jersey and went to London to join the band.

In 2010 achieved a great reputation with the debut single "Georgia" at this time used the spelling of Yu (c) k and the Ep "Rubber" released the same year, both only on vinyl, then toured with Teenage Fanclub, Dum Dum Girls , and Modest Mouse.

His self-titled debut album was released in February 2011 and also has a deluxe edition having six more tracks.

The band is an indie that sounds like a fresh and unique style, and it is clear the influence of bands like Sonic Youth, Pixies, Jesus and Mary Chain etc, so if this is your style will be delighted.

Novamente trago a beleza e a competencia feminina, desta vez com uma banda Australiana formada por quatro irmas, Amy Findlay nos vocais principais e na bateria, Hannah Findlay na guitarra e nos backing vocais, Sarah Findlay nos teclados e backing vocais e Holly Findlay no baixo e também nos backing vocais. Stonefield.

Cresceram ouvindo em casa Led Zeppelin, Zappa e Hendrix por causa de seus pais e após ganharem deles uma bateria complea, Amy com 15 anos, a mais velha da turma, se encantou pelo instrumento e começou a fazer aulas, assim nao demorou para as suas irmas tambem se interessarem e logo em seguida Hanna com 13 anos assumiu a tocar guitarra, Sarah com 12 anos começou a tocar teclado e a mais nova Holly, na época com apenas 7 anos pediu um baixo para o pai e assim a banda estava completa e apesar de morarem em uma fazenda em uma pequena cidade rural situada ao norte de Melbourne com uma população estimada de pouco mais de 200 pessoas, por força do destino um professor de música se mudou para a fazenda vizinha e logo começou a ensina-las cada uma com o seu instrumento, logo estavam tirando músicas que ouviam na rádio e não demorou para começarem a tocar Hendrix, a partir dai começaram com as músicas próprias.

Em 2010 participaram de um concurso de bandas no qual foram vencedoras e como prémio ganharam algumas horas em estudio e assim gravaram o EP "Through The Clover", no mesmo ano tocaram no One Movement Festival e em junho de 2011 tocaram no Melbourne Cricket Ground, antes do jogo.

Editors é mais uma banda que nasce na universidade, desta vez em Staffordshire, Inglaterra.

 A banda que antes se chamava The Pride depois Snowfield que por fim virou Editors conquistou mais popularidade depois de assinarem com a Kitchenware Records em 2004.

Músicas com muita energia e cheias de sentimentos se completam com singularidade ao mesclar referências fantásticas como  U2, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, Interpol e claro, Joy Division, que particularmente falando Ian Curts é inconfundivelmente lembrado.

O primeiro single “bullets” lançado em uma edição limitada de 500 cópias rapidamente conquistou as rádios britânicas, depois disso aconteceu o merecido espaço conquistando muitos  fãs.

Em 2006 laçaram o Single “Munich”, música que conquistou os EUA e confirmou a saída do Editors do underground para o mundo.

Albuns: 2005 - The Back Room,  2007 - An End Has a Start,  2009 - In This Light and on This Evening. Uma dica é tentar encontrar alguns EPs, pois como é de costume, temos muitas músicas inéditas que valem a pena conhecer.
