Mais uma banda nova Carioca surpreendente surgindo na cena com força de gente grande. Hell Oh!A banda nos presenteia com algo energeticamente inspirador. Apesar da semelhança no timbre de voz do Raphael com a do John K. Samson (The Weakerthans). Nada muda, ao contrário, acrescenta-se ai rifes alegres, com astral acima da media, que inconscientemente nos leva a bater os pés enquanto ouvimos.
Os meninos Vinicius (guitarra), Maycon (baixo), Tulio (bateria) e Raphael (voz e guitarra) se uniram em agosto de 2011 na cidade de Nova Friburgo (RJ). As referencias musicais são bem variadas, passa pelo punk, surf music, grunge, blues, garage, mas definição não é o mais importante, o importante é ouvir e tirar sua própria conclusão.
Gravaram em 2012, 5 músicas no Estudio Superfuzz, dando origem ao primeiro EP. Conseguiram ótimas críticas dentro e fora do Brasil. Essa receptividade toda lhes garantiram importantes festivais, dividindo palcos com bandas como Altoramas e Folks.

Another new band Carioca emerging on the scene with amazing strength of great people.Oh Hell! The band presents us with something energetically inspiring. Despite the similarity in tone of voice of Raphael with the John K. Samson (The Weakerthans). Fizemos uma entrevista com os garotos do Sin Ayuda logo depois da turnê Norteste no final de 2012. Nesta entrevista pra lá de discontraída, além de falarmos da história da banda, muitas curiosidades bacanas sobre os bastidores desta tour nordeste apoiada pela Popfuzz e as histórias que fizeram parte da gravação do EP Boat no sítio Israel em Sta branca no interior de São Paulo.

Neste mês março, dia 14, Sin Ayuda festeja sua participação na coletanea do the Blog Celebrates It Self sobre musica psicodélica, onde 5 bandas gringas + 5 bandas nacionais fazem versões de músicas da década de 60. Sin Ayuda gravou "Pare de Sonhar com Estrelas Eistantes" de Ronnie Von (1969). E Não para por aí, dia 18 de março será lançado em parceria com a popfuzz records (AL) a MIXTAPE "Mantra Reggae Punk" instrumental gravado totalmente ao vivo em paralelo as gravações do Boat EP no sitio Israel em Sta branca (SP)

We did an interview with the boys from Sin Ayuda after the tour in late 2012. In this interview we talk about the band's history, many curiosities cool about this backstage tour in northeastern Brazil supported by Popfuzz and stories that took part in the recording of the EP in Sta White Boat in São Paulo.

Grito Rock, Grito rock Taubaté grito, Grito Rock Ituiutaba (First time festival at MG) and Grito Rock Jaú.
This month March, 14th, Ayuda Sin celebrates their participation in the collection of the Blog Celebrates It Self about psychedelic music, where 5 + 5 international bands Brazilian bands are versions of songs from the 60s. Ayuda Sin recorded
"Pare de Sonhar com Estrelas Eistantes" de Ronnie Von (1969). And do not stop there, March 18 will be launched in partnership with Popfuzz records (AL) to MIXTAPE "Mantra Reggae Punk" instrumental recorded completely live in parallel recordings of the EP Boat in Israel in sitio Sta white (SP)

“Club América” é um duo paulista de Sorocaba formado pelos irmãos Andy e Bruno, ambos dissidentes da banda The Name que acabou pouco tempo depois que tocaram no festival “Planeta Terra” em 2011.
O fim do “The Name” fez nascer o novo. Andy e Bruno formam o duo “Club América” um projeto que traz influências nítidas da proposta da antiga banda, com um ritmo mais dançante, com outra estrutura musical, com guitarras sim mas também com boas pitadas de sintetizadores e outras sonoridades eletrônicas que faz qualquer um viajar pelos anos 80.
Tudo muito bem produzido, o duo lançou 2 singles muito bons “Belive” e “Start Again”, o mágico disso é que impossível não notar as boas influências sonoras de bandas clássicas e de vanguarda do velho mundo. Neste momento estão em estúdio gravando seu primeiro álbum que sem dúvida anunciaremos aqui.

“Club América” is a duo from Sao Paulo, Sorocaba town formed by brothers Andy and Bruno, both dissidents of the band “The Name” that ended shortly after that played at the festival "Planeta Terra" in 2011.
The end of "The Name" gave birth to the new. Andy and Bruno form the duo "Club America" a project that brings clear influences of the proposal of the former band, with a more danceable rhythm, with another musical structure, but with guitars but also with good pinches of synthesizers and other electronic sounds that make any one traveling the 80s.
All very well produced, the duo released 2 singles very good "Belive" and "Start Again", the magic that is impossible not to notice the good influences from classic bands sound and vanguard of the old world. There currently are in the studio recording their first album which undoubtedly announce here.

Ha poucos dias, falei de uma banda de Los Angles (Fidlar) que faz Surf Music, e hoje quero falar de uma banda do planalto Central Brasileiro, Super Stereo Surf, banda de Brasília que faz do clima seco e da paisagem árida do cerrado a fonte de inspiração para a criar muito rock ou surf rock ou surf music. Qualidade é algo incontestável, criatividade e bom humor está no DNA de cada componente.
A rapaziada que forma a Super Sterio Surfé -Harrisson Surf (guitarra), Alex Maraskin (guitarra), Barata (Bateria) e Márcio Rock (baixo). Lançaram em 2009 pela Monstro Discos o álbum “Antes do Baile”. Disco cheio de energia musical e bom humor que se nota a cada faixa. Prova disso está nos títulos das músicas que são inspirados em filmes que eles gostam como “Corra Lola Corra”, “Te pego la fora” e “Curtindo a vida adoidado”.
Recentemente a banda conseguiu chamar a atenção na MTV e em várias partes do mundo, com o clipe ou “Gibi Clipe” feito para a música “Curtindo a vida adoidado”. Formato de vídeo pensado para ser visto em tablets e celulares.
De olho na banda, vale a pena conferir os passos e os shows da rapaziada.

The Cleaners é uma banda Paulista, mais precisamente falando, são da cidade de Mauá, cidade a cerca de 30kms de São Paulo. A Banda é mais uma das muitas que lutam para criar, viabilizar, tocar e mostrar seu trabalho autoral. Com custos absorvidos pelos próprios bolsos dos integrantes, The Cleaners iniciou o trabalho do seu primeiro disco “Behind the Truth” em 2009, anos mais tarde o álbum fora lançado com 12 faixas 100% autoral.
Formada por Rodrigo Milk (composições, voz e guitarra), Duca Olimazzi (bateria), Erick Alves (guitarra) e Rodrigo Lima (voz e baixo) a banda traz influencias do rock britânico como: Nick Drake, The Flamingo Lips, Snow Patrol entre outras sonoridades vindas do velho mundo.
The Cleaners não é uma banda “igual”, ou não é “mais uma” banda, The Cleaners é uma banda “diferente” do que se está acostumado a ouvir em bandas nativas do Brasil. Isso torna as canções ainda mais agradáveis. Com músicas que emanam melodia e energia tanto por suas letras quanto pelos arranjos, um desenho bem resolvido que traduz uma sincronia fina entre sonoridade, poesia e vibração.

The Cleaners is a São Paulo’band, precisely speaking, is the town of Maua town, 30kms distant from São Paulo. The band is one of many who struggle to create, facilitate, play and show his original work. Andei acompanhando algumas bandas brasileiras em 2011 e 2012
e digo que surpresas não param de acontecer. Por esta razão vou dedicar, como no ano passado,
espaço para falar de algumas promessas musicais que eu acredito para 2013.
Começo com Subburbia, banda Curitibana que tem feito um trabalho
fantástico e colaborado com de forma grandiosa para a cena alternativa brasileira.
Surpreende pela qualidade, sonoridade e pela facilidade de sempre estarem
lançando coisas novas.
A banda que teve inúmeros integrantes até chegar na formação
atual, hoje conta com Emil, Ernani, Marina Penny e Vir.
Comparados por muitos com CSS preferem ser comparados a
Icecage, apesar de admitirem carregar nas músicas sonoridades do CSS. Mas
outros nomes também ajudam a compor a alma da banda: Suede, Stone Roses, Pulp,
Flaming Lips entre outros. Para encerrar com boas notícias, Subburbia fez show
fora do Brasil em 2012, incluindo a divisão do palco com Ringo Deathstarr, em
suma, Subburbia merece nossos atentos ouvidos.

I've been
watching some Brazilian bands in 2011 and 2012 and say that surprises do not
stop happening. I will devote, like last year, space to talk about some musical
promises for 2013.
I Start
with Subburbia, Curitiba’s band (Brazil). They done a fantastic job and worked
with in a big way for the Brazilian alternative scene. Surprised by the
quality, sound and ease of casting are always new things.
The band
had numerous members until the current lineup, now has Emil, Ernani, Marina Penny
and Vir.
Compared
with CSS, the band prefer to be compared to Icecage, but admitting load the
songs sounds CSS. Others names also help make up the soul of the band: Suede,
Stone Roses, Pulp, Flaming Lips among others. To end this post with a good
news, Subburbia did show out of Brazil in 2012, including the division of the
stage with Ringo Deathstarr, in short, Subburbia deserves our attentive ears.

o teaser das entrevistas que fizemos no SP Popfest que rolou de 24 a 26 de
agosto no Espaço Cultural Walden,
Uma das bandas que batemos um papo super descontraído foi a
The John Candy, banda carioca formada por Vinícius Leal (guitarra e voz),
Guilherme Almeida (guitarra e voz), Gustavo Cockell (baixo) e Joab Regis
(bateria). A banda surge em 2003 quando Vinícius convidou Guilherme para
formarem uma banda a partir de algumas de suas composições gravadas de forma
caseira em fitas cassetes que tinham sido esquecidas e deixadas de lado desde
1998.
Vinícius e Guilherme já se conheciam e ja tinham tocado
juntos em outras bandas no final dos anos 90 e animados com a afinidade musical
que tinham foi inevitável a retomada dos projetos da The John Candy.
Essa parceria de "garimpo" das preciosidades em Lo
Fi esquecidas nos final dos anos 90 levaram quase 2 anos e o resultado foi o
lançamento do primeiro álbum "In Your Arms I Was Happy" de 2005, sumindo das prateleiras. A partir
daí começaram a trabalhar em novas composições ao longo dos anos o que resultou
no seu segundo álbum "Overdrive Beach" lançado em 2008 e por fim em
2012 lançam o Álbum “Dreamscape”.
The John Candy nos seus 3 albums mostra um amadurecimento
fantástico, cada disco uma surpresa, cada faixa uma intensidade. Os
arranjos e as melodias conseguem deixar impressões apaixonantes. A
simplicidade, criatividade e o talento resumem The John Candy como uma banda que transborda os sentidos e não cansa os ouvidos.
Vamos deixar aqui uma música do segundo álbum, “Persona” e a
entrevista que fizemos com os rapazes no SP POPFEST.
Who has
been following our posts must surely have seen the teaser of the interviews we
did in SP Popfest that rolled 24-26 August at the Centro Cultura Walden.
One of the
bands that hit a super relaxed interview was The John Candy. Formed on Rio de
Janeiro with Vinícius Leal (guitar and vocals), Guilherme Almeida (guitar and
vocals), Gustavo Cockell (bass) and Joab Regis (drums). The band comes in 2003
when Vinícius and Guilherme invited to form a band from some of his
compositions recorded in a home on cassettes that had been forgotten and left
out since 1998.
The Boys
already knew and had played together in other bands in the late '90s and
thrilled with the musical affinity that had been inevitable resumption of
projects from The John Candy.
This
partnership of "mining" loot in Lo Fi forgotten in the late '90s took
almost two years and the result was the release of their first album "In
Your Arms I Was Happy" 2005, disappearing from the shelves. From there
began working on new songs over the years which resulted in his second
album "Overdrive Beach" launched in 2008 and
in 2012 presented us with the release of their third album and also great “Dreamscape”.
The John
Candy in his 3 albums shows a maturing fantastic surprise each disc en track by
track is intensity. The arrangements and melodies can leave impressions
exciting. The simplicity, creativity and talent summarize The John Candy as a band that overflows the senses and does not tired if you listen.

Essa é mais uma daquelas agradáveis surpresas que surgem repentinamente e nos alegram. Em conversa informal dias atrás com um amigo nosso, ele nos apresentou Marie Tchibi, integrante do duo Hyper and the Hi-Fi. Estabelecido o contato com Marie aproveitei para ouvir algumas músicas da banda enquanto conversávamos. Me surpreendi com a dupla (Marie Tchibi - guitarra e voz e Joe Olivetree - bateria e voz). Mais uma vez fiquei feliz e impressionado com o que ouvia, eu disse pra mim mesmo depois, estou ouvindo isso no Brasil! É uma banda Brasileira!!!
As influências da dupla passam por bandas como Kasabian, Boom Boom Satellites, Artic Monkeys mas inconscientemente consegui ainda encontrar traços de Gobble Gobble e Vive la Fete mas é justamente essa mistura de “essências musicais” que mais me chamou atenção.
Hyper and the Hi-Fi faz uma mistura fantástica, a dupla que vive em São Paulo, se conheceram pela internet em 2012. Marie Tchibi trabalha com moda mas o tédio bateu a sua porta e resolveu formar uma banda. Através de um site de classificados de músicos ela encontrou o estudante de direito Joe Olivetree, alguns encontros depois começaram os ensaios em seguida fazer as primeiras gravações.
Atualmente a banda prepara novas canções e ensaia sua apresentação ao vivo. Em breve lançará novo material em conjunto com produtores brasileiros e dinamarqueses, que chegaram até a banda depois de ouvir suas músicas na internet.

This is another one of those pleasant surprises that arise suddenly and cheer us. In an informal conversation days ago with a friend, he introduced us Marie Tchibi, a member of the duo “Hyper and the Hi-Fi”. “Hyper and the Hi-Fi” is a fantastic mix, the duo who lives in Sao Paulo, met on the internet in 2012. Marie Tchibi works in fashion but boredom knocked at his door and decided to form a band. Through a site classified as musicians she met a law student Joe Olivetree, several meetings later started the tests then make the first recordings.
In less than a month with a profile in Brazilian site Trama Virtual, the band reached the Top rank fourth among 100 selected bands and also the most heard.
Currently the band is preparing new songs and rehearse your presentation live. Will soon release new material together with Brazilian producers and Danes, who came to the band after hearing their music on the Internet.
There are plans for recording the new EP, tours soon we will bring here in our blog. I'll leave two very good songs "Hostage" and finally "Nothing to Prove."
Sin Ayuda é uma banda do interior paulista, geograficamente localizados no Vale do Paraíba em Taubaté. Formado por Vinicius Pacheco (voz, guitarra, violão), Diego Xavier (voz, guitarra, violão), Julito Cavalcante (baixo) e Ricardo Henrique (bateria).
A Banda têm dois trabalhos lançados, “Noise Reminders”, de 2011 pela Popfuzz Records,e o novinho em folha “Boat EP” de 2012 também lançado pela Popfuzz Records, mas também com parceria da Transfusão Noise Records.
As músicas trazem melodias calmas e belas, com o peso das guitarras que contrastam com os violões. Ouvir Sin Ayuda é uma experiência impressionante, é possível não identificar inúmeras influências que passam pelas mãos dos rapazes, uma mistura incrível de sonoridades que somadas traduzem o trabalho da banda.
Como sempre, vou deixar aqui dois trabalhos, primeiro “Wednesday, Thursday Lie” do primeiro álbum de 2011 e por fim "Trucks & Tricks" do “Boat”.
Sin Ayuda is a band from São Paulo State (Brazil), geographically located in the Vale do Paraíba in Taubaté. Formed by Vinicius Pacheco (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar), Diego Xavier (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar), Julito Cavalcante (bass) and Richard Henry (drums).
The band has released two albuns, "Noise Reminders" in 2011 by Popfuzz Records, and the brand new "Boat EP" in 2012 also released by Popfuzz Records, but also on partnership Transfusion Noise Records.
The songs bring calm and beautiful melodies, with the weight of the guitars that contrast with the guitars. Listen Ayuda Sin is an awesome experience, it is not possible to identify several influences that pass through the hands of boys, an incredible mix of sounds which together reflect the band's work.
As always, I'll leave here two works, the first "Wednesday, Thursday Lie" from the first album in 2011 and finally "Trucks & Tricks" of the "Boat".
Como prometido, volto para falar mais um pouco sobre Lê Almeida, desta vez focando no músico e nos álbuns com um pouco mais de detalhes. Claro que passei horas muito agradáveis ouvindo todos os trabalhos do rapaz, realmente é algo extraordinário e o mais bacana é a pessoa do Lê Almeida, simplesmente algo que nos enche de orgulho, a começar por não saber nem os nomes das cordas da guitarra e ainda assim fazer música com tamanha criatividade e sonoridade. Ou seja, um talento nato para música.
A viagem sonora dos álbuns é algo único e impressionante que
precisa de atenção. Uma das várias curiosidades que envolvem a gravação e o
processo criativo do Lê, está no tempo das músicas, isso pode ser notado nas diferentes fases dos
trabalhos do Lê, no EP “Fique bem com dropes de halls” por exemplo, as músicas
têm entre 1 e 2 minutos em média, O próprio single citado de 2007 é prova disso
pois têm exatos 2:41. Além da energia da faixa título o disco também tem um
recheio belíssimo da música “com” de apenas 1:20, onde ouvir uma vez apenas é
praticamente impossível.
Já no EP “Loufailândia”, primeiro trabalho do Lê, ele constrói
músicas mais longas, com duração entre 3 a 5 min, disco alias que traz de forma
latente o conceito LO FI, álbum que também o levou a fazer parte do cast da
Midsummer Madness.
Mas canções longas não é o que Lê Almeida realmente gosta de
fazer, diz preferir construções mais
curtas e com letras subjetivamente “poéticas” onde cotidiano e os amigos são
cantados de forma inteligente nada piegas. 2008 é a vez do single “Querida
Deal” (uma referência a Kim Deal, baixista do Pixies e líder do Breeders), um
disco lindo e cheio de emoções, nostalgia, com destaque a canção “Trocando as
Estações” de apenas 50 segundos.
2009 foi um ano agitado e em maio deste ano saiu o EP REVI, que meses depois ganhou uma edição em vinil pela Vinyl Land (prensado na Inglaterra e com distribuição dentro e fora do país). Ainda em 2009, Lê Almeida produziu o tributo à banda norte-americana pioneira no lo-fi Guided By Voices, Don't Stop Now, com 31 bandas de todo o Brasil. Em 2010 lança o single “Transporpirações” e 2011 finalmente foi lançado “Mono Maçã”, com versões e formatos diferentes, oficialmente com 23 faixas. Lê Almeida lançará em outubro seu mais novo trabalho, o EP “Pré Ambulatório” que já esta pronto e vai ser masterizado a partir de uma mesa tascam (cassete). Este EP brevemente será lançado também em Seattle via Lost Sound , será uma tiragem limitada em K7.
Temos show dele em São Paulo dia 25 de agosto no SP Pop Fest, ingressos já quase esgotados e ILS vai conferir para trazer a vocês.

Estou surpreendentemente feliz com o que vejo surgir nos últimos tempos na cena musical carioca, para ser mais preciso, São João do Meriti em Vilar dos Teles. Antes de entrar no assunto, é sempre bom lembrar que temos motivos de sobra para comemorar a cena nacional e unir ainda mais as forças para o bom e velho Rock and Roll brasileiro, é o mínimo que devemos fazer. Estados como os de MG, RS, SP, BA, GO e o DF mostraram nos últimos anos sua força, sua criatividade e uma maravilhosa sina, o de ser "progenitores" ou berço de bandas fantásticas, e agora é a vez do RJ entrar para o “clube materno” com força total.
Minha inspiração para falar da cena Carioca está inegavelmente ligada a uma pessoa com quem pude papear muito brevemente nesses últimos dias. Lê Almeida, jovem de origem humilde que estimulou e viabilizou como um verdadeiro “Pai” o surgimento de trabalhos que antes ficariam presos em apenas sonhos.
Transfusão Noise Records é o selo que Lê Almeida está a frente e claro, é responsável pelo lançamento de diversas bandas fantásticas, verdadeiros delírios musicais que Lê visionariamente viabilizou.
Lê é músico, artista e produtor musical, sem ele, Bandas como Looking for Jenny, Carpete Florido (bandas já publicadas no ILS), Sin Ayuda, Wallace Costa entre outras seriam apenas um sonho delirante.
A Transfusão Noise Records abraçou o conceito LO FI com maestria em gravações feitas no quintal de casa ou na cozinha, com caixas de som improvisadas, mesa de som com apenas 4 canais que gravam em K7 e microfones de computadores para gravação de voz, em suma, uma tradução do tamanho da criatividade, da vontade, amor e coragem de mostrar ao mundo que Rock and Roll é algo que está além da compreensão lógica ou tecnológica. Lê Almeida merece nosso respeito e admiração.
Focando no lado musical de Lê Almeida, além de sócio fundador do selo, tem seus projetos solo e com outras bandas. Noise, lo fi de primeira, influências do velho mundo, indie rock é chover no molhado. Sinto-me emotivamente tocado pela sonoridade, são canções fortes, melancólicas com distorções sujas vindas de acordes simples e inteligentes, na definição do próprio Lê, “Indie Rock de Guitarra”.

Quem é Jenny???....não sabemos e nem eles sabem.. e... quem são eles???? Thiago Werlang de Oliveira na Guitarra e Vocal, Bruno Pinheiro Ivan no Baixo, Andrêi Krasnoschecoff na Bateria e Otávio Fabris Gama na Guitarra, eles formam a Looking for Jenny.
A banda nasceu em São Carlos, interior de São Paulo no inicio de 2010 após Otávio ter ouvido algumas gravações que Thiago tinha composto e gravado de forma totalmente caseira com um microfone de computador.
Looking for Jenny faz um som despretensioso, com distorções sujas, barulhos e baixa-fidelidade, é fácil notar as influências que eles mesmos afirmam ter, tais como Dinosaur Jr., Pavement e Sonic Youth.
Monkey Rudiments, segundo EP lançado agora no comecinho desse mês de maio conta com 6 faixas e mantem a essencia da banda, inclusive o lo-fi esta presente e continua como antes e dessa mesma forma "caseira" lançaram também seu primeiro video clipe Peaceful Sleep que de acordo com eles só gastaram dinheiro com pilhas para as lanternas.
