“Club América” é um duo paulista de Sorocaba formado pelos irmãos Andy e Bruno, ambos dissidentes da banda The Name que acabou pouco tempo depois que tocaram no festival “Planeta Terra” em 2011.
O fim do “The Name” fez nascer o novo. Andy e Bruno formam o duo “Club América” um projeto que traz influências nítidas da proposta da antiga banda, com um ritmo mais dançante, com outra estrutura musical, com guitarras sim mas também com boas pitadas de sintetizadores e outras sonoridades eletrônicas que faz qualquer um viajar pelos anos 80.
Tudo muito bem produzido, o duo lançou 2 singles muito bons “Belive” e “Start Again”, o mágico disso é que impossível não notar as boas influências sonoras de bandas clássicas e de vanguarda do velho mundo. Neste momento estão em estúdio gravando seu primeiro álbum que sem dúvida anunciaremos aqui.

“Club América” is a duo from Sao Paulo, Sorocaba town formed by brothers Andy and Bruno, both dissidents of the band “The Name” that ended shortly after that played at the festival "Planeta Terra" in 2011.

No último dia 24 de julho o INLS bateu um papo com a banda paulista Whyever,
além de conhecermos mais sobre suas influências, como se conheceram e sobre
todo o processo de criação do primeiro CD, também conferimos um pocket show
exclusivo para o blog o que rendeu algumas boas fotos.
A banda conta com Diego Henri nos vocais e guitarra, Vini
Marmore na guitarra, Alex Ishikawa no baixo e Allan Calvo na bateria e apesar
da pouca idade do rapazes,a experiência
musical e a vontade de “quebrar tudo” são enormes.
O lançamento do primeiro álbum da banda aconteceu no dia 05
de maio na virada cultural de São Paulo no palco SPIndie que édedicado a cena independente.
O álbum possui11
músicas todas de autoria da banda e conta ainda com um novo conceito de
embalagem que é toda confeccionada em tecido, além disso foram criadas
ilustrações para todas as músicas pelo artista plástico Rato.
Está previsto para o mês de agosto o lançamento do seu
primeiro vídeo clipe da música Broken Strings e claro, assim que for
lançado divulgaremos aqui.

Voltando a falar agora das bandas de fora vou fechar esta semana lhes apresentando The Dead Trees, um quarteto de Los Angeles-EUA, formado por Michael Ian Cummings (voz e e guitarra), Todd Dalhoff (baixo e voz), Matthew Borg (guitarra, voz) e Noah Rubin (bateria e voz. A banda que nasceu em 2006, tocou no Brasil em 2009, período em que o Little Joy (projeto de Rodrigo Amarante) também tocava lá fora, nesse momento os contatos já haviam sido estabelecidos e um apoio mútuo entre as bandas deu muito certo.
The Dead Trees tem um estilo alternativo com melodias fortes e cheias de sensibilidade, ouvi-los me faz lembrar um pouco de The Donkeys, The Moondoggies e até The Strokes.
O primeiro álbum da banda, intitulado provisoriamente WHATWAVE foi gravado no início deste ano em Hollywood Hills e conta com participação da banda brasileira Little Joy de Fabrizio Moretti (baterista do Strokes), Binki Shapiro e Rodrigo Amarante. Toda produção e custos foram pagos por doações prometidas por fãs e simpatizantes na angariação de fundos Kickstarer.com
Cummings disse que a ajuda vinda foi inacreditável, segundo ele, a banda atingiu a meta de US $ 17.000 (cerca de 34 mil reais), conseguindo assim financiar todo o projeto da banda de forma independente, e vão fazer o lançamento nos EUA de forma tão criativa quanto a técnica de financiamento do próprio registro. O lançamento simultâneo com os esforços do Selo europeu Affair Of the Heart e o japonês Lively Up em todo o mundo é outra jogada de mestre dos rapazes.

Returning now to speak of the bands out of Brazil, and for to close this week, I want to present The Dead Trees, a quartet of Los Angeles, USA, formed by Michael Ian Cummings (voice and and guitar), Todd Dalhoff (bass and vocals), Matthew Borg (guitar, vocals) and Noah Rubin (drums and vocals). The band formed in 2006, played in Brazil in 2009, when the Little Joy (Rodrigo Amarante project) also played out there, this time the contacts had been established and mutual support between the bands work very well.
The Dead Trees have an alternative style with strong melodies and full of sensitivity, listening to them reminds me a bit of The Donkeys, The Moondoggies, and even the Strokes.

Estou surpreendentemente feliz com o que vejo surgir nos últimos tempos na cena musical carioca, para ser mais preciso, São João do Meriti em Vilar dos Teles. Antes de entrar no assunto, é sempre bom lembrar que temos motivos de sobra para comemorar a cena nacional e unir ainda mais as forças para o bom e velho Rock and Roll brasileiro, é o mínimo que devemos fazer. Estados como os de MG, RS, SP, BA, GO e o DF mostraram nos últimos anos sua força, sua criatividade e uma maravilhosa sina, o de ser "progenitores" ou berço de bandas fantásticas, e agora é a vez do RJ entrar para o “clube materno” com força total.
Minha inspiração para falar da cena Carioca está inegavelmente ligada a uma pessoa com quem pude papear muito brevemente nesses últimos dias. Lê Almeida, jovem de origem humilde que estimulou e viabilizou como um verdadeiro “Pai” o surgimento de trabalhos que antes ficariam presos em apenas sonhos.
Transfusão Noise Records é o selo que Lê Almeida está a frente e claro, é responsável pelo lançamento de diversas bandas fantásticas, verdadeiros delírios musicais que Lê visionariamente viabilizou.
Lê é músico, artista e produtor musical, sem ele, Bandas como Looking for Jenny, Carpete Florido (bandas já publicadas no ILS), Sin Ayuda, Wallace Costa entre outras seriam apenas um sonho delirante.
A Transfusão Noise Records abraçou o conceito LO FI com maestria em gravações feitas no quintal de casa ou na cozinha, com caixas de som improvisadas, mesa de som com apenas 4 canais que gravam em K7 e microfones de computadores para gravação de voz, em suma, uma tradução do tamanho da criatividade, da vontade, amor e coragem de mostrar ao mundo que Rock and Roll é algo que está além da compreensão lógica ou tecnológica. Lê Almeida merece nosso respeito e admiração.
Focando no lado musical de Lê Almeida, além de sócio fundador do selo, tem seus projetos solo e com outras bandas. Noise, lo fi de primeira, influências do velho mundo, indie rock é chover no molhado. Sinto-me emotivamente tocado pela sonoridade, são canções fortes, melancólicas com distorções sujas vindas de acordes simples e inteligentes, na definição do próprio Lê, “Indie Rock de Guitarra”.

Lowgold é uma banda britânica que quase acabou antes mesmo de laçar seu álbum de estreia, isso porque a gravadora estava em uma situação delicada financeiramente e só lançou o primeiro álbum dos rapazes no final de 1998.
Enfim, Lowgold nasceu depois que Darren Ford (vocais e guitarra) e Dan Symons (guitarra) se conheceram em um bar na universidade. Depois de muita luta pelo que mais gostavam de fazer, Ford decidiu gravar uma fita demo de sua autoria e pediu Symons gravar a guitarra. A dupla enviou duas músicas para Nude Records. A surpresa agradável dos rapazes aconteceu quando a gravadora pediu para ver a performance da banda, então Miles Willey (baixo) e Scott Simon (bateria) foram adicionados à banda a fim de apresentarem-se como banda.
Nasce então Lowgold, aliás, nome que segundo a banda é uma palavra nórdica que é definida como "valor escondido". E esse “valor escondido” nasce depois de um ensaio, pois acabaram assinando com a Nude Records e Lowgold lança ”Just Backward of Square” em 2001.
Em excursão pelos EUA a banda começa a provocar os ouvidos mais atentos com suas músicas melancólicas que faz jus ao seu país de origem, e foram comparados a bandas como Coldplay e Badly Drawn Boy. Mas essa atmosfera de alegria foi abalada quando a gravadora rompeu com a banda e deixou Lowgold Endividado, nesse momento o baterista Scott Simon, deixou a banda, mas essa dificuldade não abalou o sonho dos rapazes.
Com a ajuda de familiares e amigos e manutenção de empregos diários, os membros do Lowgold renasceram e Rob Lee entrou em cena para tocar bateria e Lowgold vem tona mais uma vez para lançar em 2004 o álbum “Welcome to Winners”, sugestivo e fantástico trabalho da banda.

Lowgold is a British band that almost ended before it even lacing his debut album, the label because it was in a tricky situation financially and just released her first album of the guys at the end of 1998.
Finally, Lowgold was born after Darren Ford (vocals, guitar) and Dan Symons (guitar) met in a bar in college. Ainda com o intuito de divulgar e valorizar nossas ótimas bandas nacionais alternativas, hoje trago a banda mineira Valv.
Formada em 2000, quando os amigos Alexandre Augusto (bateria e backing vocals), Luciano Cota (guitarra) resolveram montar uma banda e chamaram para fazer parte do projeto e para figurar no baixo o outro amigo Daniel Maia e apesar de nao possuirem um vocal, foi nesse mesmo ano que saiu algumas composiçoes do primeiro EP entitulado Ammonite que saiu no ano seguinte.
Alessandro Travassos (guitarra e voz) após voltar de uma viagem no final do ano de 2000, foi convidado a fazer parte da banda e a partir dai surgiu o Valv.
A banda tocou em festivais
importantes em São Paulo, Goiânia e Curitiba e tambem participaram do festival americano South By Southwest em Austin, Texas.
O primeiro álbum veio em 2004 entitulado The Sense of Movement e conta com a participação na música título do álbum da vocalista do Pato Fu Fernada Takai.
A banda tem grande influencia de Brit rock e bandas indies americanas dos anos 80 e 90 e ainda com uma pitada de Punk rock que vem da bagagem de Daniel Maia tudo isso resulta em ótima pegada com distorções pesadas e sujas.
