IN LOST FEST

Dia 1 de Dezembro o Blog IN LOST SIDES realizou um grande sonho, o de poder de alguma maneira colaborar com a cena do Rock Brasileiro. IN LOST SIDES não conseguiria isso sem o apoio de pessoas que também amam o que fazem assim como nós. Norton Bell, Vini Marmore, Digão, Nimbus Studios, Ricardo, Ponto Pro Rock, Art Show Comunicação Visual e E Comunicação Visual, foram algumas das figuras mais importantes que tornaram isso possível.

Foram meses de luta, de expectativa e preparativos e 4 bandas convidadas. Whyever, The John Candy, Nitrokill e The Luppies. Uma data mágica de muito Rock and Roll invadiu o Studio Nimbus, fazendo da noite de 1 de Dezembro um marco para a história da cena alternativa.

December 1st Blog IN LOST SIDES held a grand dream, help with a hard work the Brazilian rock scene. IN LOST SIDES not get it without the support of people who also love what they do as we are. Norton Bell, Vini Marmore, Digão, Nimbus Studios, Ricardo, Ponto Pro Rock, ArtShow and E Visual Communication, were some of the most important figures who have made this possible.

It took months of struggle, of expectation and preparation and 4 guest bands. Whyever, The John Candy, Nitrokill and The Luppies. A very magical date of Rock and Roll invaded Studio Nimbus, making the evening of December 1st a milestone in the history of the alternative scene.

X So Pretty

Apesar do nome no singular (she´s so pretty) a banda apresenta um "pretty" trio feminino a frente do palco, contando com Nanda Cury nos vocais, Michele Bertholdo na guitarra e Pamella Vapsys no baixo e completando a formação Ciro Figuerêdo na bateria e Luiz Arnault nos teclados.

Formada em 2008 a banda tem como inspiração bandas oitentistas sendo fácil notar em alguns momentos influencias do New Wave, mas as influencias nao param por aí, bandas mais recentes como Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foster the People, Vive La Fete e CSS, tudo isso resulta em um som dançante e cheio de energia com destaque para as linhas de baixo bem suingadas e bem trabalhadas.

Em 2011 lançaram o seu primeiro EP homônimo, esgotando-se rapidamente das prateleiras da Livraria Cultura, no final do mesmo ano lançaram também o single da música Blim Blom e em 2012 fizeram parte do line up do Palco SP Indie da Virada Cultural de São Paulo.

Andei acompanhando algumas bandas brasileiras em 2011 e 2012 e digo que surpresas não param de acontecer. Por esta razão vou dedicar, como no ano passado, espaço para falar de algumas promessas musicais que eu acredito para 2013.

Começo com Subburbia, banda Curitibana que tem feito um trabalho fantástico e colaborado com de forma grandiosa para a cena alternativa brasileira. Surpreende pela qualidade, sonoridade e pela facilidade de sempre estarem lançando coisas novas.

A banda que teve inúmeros integrantes até chegar na formação atual, hoje conta com Emil, Ernani, Marina Penny e Vir.

Comparados por muitos com CSS preferem ser comparados a Icecage, apesar de admitirem carregar nas músicas sonoridades do CSS. Mas outros nomes também ajudam a compor a alma da banda: Suede, Stone Roses, Pulp, Flaming Lips entre outros. Para encerrar com boas notícias, Subburbia fez show fora do Brasil em 2012, incluindo a divisão do palco com Ringo Deathstarr, em suma, Subburbia merece nossos atentos ouvidos.

I've been watching some Brazilian bands in 2011 and 2012 and say that surprises do not stop happening. I will devote, like last year, space to talk about some musical promises for 2013.

I Start with Subburbia, Curitiba’s band (Brazil). They done a fantastic job and worked with in a big way for the Brazilian alternative scene. Surprised by the quality, sound and ease of casting are always new things.

The band had numerous members until the current lineup, now has Emil, Ernani, Marina Penny and Vir.

Compared with CSS, the band prefer to be compared to Icecage, but admitting load the songs sounds CSS. Others names also help make up the soul of the band: Suede, Stone Roses, Pulp, Flaming Lips among others. To end this post with a good news, Subburbia did show out of Brazil in 2012, including the division of the stage with Ringo Deathstarr, in short, Subburbia deserves our attentive ears.

NoctVillains

 

 No dia 25 de agosto passado aconteceu o SP Popfest no Espaço Cultural Walden e tivemos o prazer de conhecer o Vagner, baixista de uma grande banda que ja esta na estrada a 19 anos a The Concept, banda que já confirmou entrevista a ser dada em breve para o In Lost Sides.

 

Em conversa informal, Vagner nos apresentou a NoctVillains, projeto dele e de sua esposa Roxy Perrota que conta com André Semeone na bateria.

 

Tudo começou em 2008 quando a X Devotion, banda que Roxy fazia parte chegou ao fim e a união e o entrosamento entre ela e Vagner fez com que surgisse a NoctVillains, daí em diante foram 3 anos e mais de 30 músicas compostas até que o trio se completou com a entrada de André.

 

O trio traz em suas composições diversas influencias e de acordo com eles mesmos o seu estilo é Roxy-Rock puro, sem rótulos ou frescuras, algo simples, forte e direto

 

Com shows pelas casas noturnas de São Paulo e com material para mais de 5 álbuns o trio se prepara para lançar seu primeiro trabalho e nós presenteia com seu primeiro single em video "Lost Loves" dando idéia da qualidade e das belíssimas composições que estão por vir.

 

Como aperitivo deixo aqui o video Lost Loves e o acustico at home da música Red Wine.

On the 25th of August last happened SP Popfest at the Cultural and Walden had the pleasure of knowing Vagner, bassist of a great band that is already on the road to 19 years The Concept, the band has already confirmed that the interview be given soon to INLS

 

In casual conversation, Vagner introduced us the NoctVillains, him project with his wife Roxy Perrota featuring André Semeone on drums.

Novo trabalho de Lê Almeida já está disponível na Transfusão Noise Records! Lançado  esta semana, “Pré Ambulatório” cessa um momento interminável de espera  dos fãs do provocador indie-noise da cena Carioca. O álbum também será lançado em breve pela Lost Sound Tapes em Seatle, vamos aguardar ai as novidades, e aliás, um show na terra natal do Grunge não seria nada mal.

As 9 faixas trazem mais “noise” mas com o mesmo suprassumo melancólico dos acordes e nos vocais. Lê continua inteligentemente com suas letras cantadas em Português, reafirmando seu compromisso criativo e belo na hora de compor e de cantar.

O tempo das músicas continua com a marca do Lê, uma mistura literal de “tempo e espaço”, da mais curta “Isso não vai mudar nada entre a gente” – 1:18” a mais longa “Encrenca” – 4:15” a vontade é sempre a mesma, ouvir mais uma vez, e mais uma vez...

A correria e os preparativos para o In Lost Fest nos deixou um pouco afastados do Blog, mas vamos retomando, afinal, a música não pode parar.

Desta vez vamos falar de uma banda instrumental paulista formada na baixada santista. MUTUS começou sua história nos anos 00 com reuniões despretensiosas no estúdio Tubarão em Santos.

Foi então em 2012 que os amigos Bruno Bortoloto (guitarrista), Ivo Escobar (baterista) e Paula Magário (baixista) revolveram materializar o fruto destas reuniões. Surge então  o primeiro EP (homônimo) da banda.

As 4 faixas fazem um mix bem interessante que passa pelo blues, progressivo, anos 70 e muita energia. É possível baixar o EP na íntegra e sem custo, confira aqui neste link.

Vamos deixar aqui o álbum e um vídeo gravado no último dia 30 de setembro no minhocão no Secret Show apoiado pelo nosso blog.

Lack of time and preparations for the Fest In Lost left us a bit away from the blog, but let resuming after all, cannot stop the music.

Today we will talk about an instrumental band formed in São Paulo, Santos region. MUTUS began its history 00´s with the studio meetings unpretentious on Tubarão Studio, Santos.

It was then in 2012 that friends Bortoloto Bruno (guitar), Ivo Escobar (drums) and Paula Magário (bassist) decided materialize the result of these meetings. Then comes the first EP (self-titled) of band.

The 4 tracks are a mix quite interesting passing through blues, progressive, 70s and a lot of energy. You can download the EP in its entirety and without cost, check out this link here.

The Okay Idea

Formada em Tóquio e com a vontade de fazer algo novo e sensacional fez com que integrantes de três bandas distintas  'squadcar', 'marble guitar case' e  'shojoskip break off'' formassem a "The Okay Idea".

Com Dan nos vocais e guitarra, Chi-Chan nos sintetizadores e vocais, Masa no baixo, O-Ishi na bateria e Russel também nos vocais e guitarra "The Okay Idea" tem como influencia bandas como Interpol, Death Cab, Metric, Muse etc.

Com toda essas influências e a experiencia músical de cada um dos membros criaram uma fusão perfeita entre o Electro, o Indie rock e o Pop resultando assim em ótimas músicas, todas em inglês que podem ser baixadas no site oficial da banda.

Infelizmente "The Okay Idea" nao possui nenhum álbum lançado e ja não esta mais na ativa, todas as músicas foram gravadas entre os anos de 2007 a 2009, período também que foram feitos vários shows pelas casas noturnas do japão.

Apesar da pouca informação a respeito da banda e do post curtíssimo vale a pena conferir as músicas que estão disponíveis para download.

CASSINO SUPERNOVA

É certo que a alguns anos atrás o Distrito Federal foi o berço de grandes bandas do roquenroll nacional, bandas que sairam do underground e chegaram ao mainstream e que até hoje fazem grande sucesso. De fato o DF ainda nos traz grandes surpresas da nova safra musical que esta surgindo, este é o caso da Cassino Supernova.

Formada em 2009 o quinteto brasiliense traz em sua bagagem as influencias e a energia do melhor do roquenroll anos 50/60 com uma roupagem moderna e letras que falam do cotidiano da banda.

Apesar dos poucos anos de estrada a banda tem em seu curriculo shows ao lado de grandes nomes do cenário músical internacional e nacional como Bad Religion, She Wants Revenge, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Patu Fu, Cachorro Grande entre outras, e aparições no Jornal Nacional, MTV, Jornal do SBT e o mais legal, em 2011 a música "Torta Alemã" foi a segunda mais pedida na Kiss FM, tais reconhecimentos são frutos de muita competencia e vontade, pois em apenas sete meses de sua existencia a banda venceu a seletiva para o Festival Porão do Rock sendo convidada e a sua apresentação a mais esperada na edição de 2010 do festival.

Cassino Supernova acabou de lançar seu primeiro álbum "Na Estrada" que pode ser conferido e baixado pelo Facebook da banda.

2012 é um ano de grande importância para a banda, pois além de estarem com o primeiro clipe em processo de produção, previsto para ser lançado o mês que vem, o ano também marca o retorno deles aos palcos da cidade de São Paulo, portanto fiquem ligados pois ainda ouviremos falar muito dessa grande banda.

It is a fact that some years ago the Brazilian Federal District was the birthplace of the great Rock and Roll bands bands that came out of the underground and reached the Mainstream and that still make great success. In fact the DF still brings amazing surprises of the new brazilian music, is the case of Cassino Supernova.

Formed in 2009, the brazilian quintet brings influences and the energy of the best Rock and Roll from 50's/60's with a modern dress and lyrics that speak of daily´s band.

Despite being a relatively new band they already played with important names from the music scene, like Bad Religion, She Wants Revenge, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Pato Fu, Cachorro Grande ... and appearances on brazilian TV News and brazilian MTV.

The recognition is the result of much work, in just seven months of its existence the band won the selective for the brazilian festival Porão do Rock being invited and their show the most awaited 2010 edition of the festival.

Cassino Supernova has just released his first album "Na Estrada" that can be checked and downloaded at band´s  Facebook.

2012 is a year of great importance for the band, as well as being the first clip in the production process, set to be released next month, the year also marks their return to the stage in the city of São Paulo, so stay still connected because we will hear a lot of this great band.

The John Candy

Quem tem acompanhado nossos posts com certeza deve ter visto o teaser das entrevistas que fizemos no SP Popfest que rolou de 24 a 26 de agosto no Espaço Cultural Walden,

Uma das bandas que batemos um papo super descontraído foi a The John Candy, banda carioca formada por Vinícius Leal (guitarra e voz), Guilherme Almeida (guitarra e voz), Gustavo Cockell (baixo) e Joab Regis (bateria). A banda surge em 2003 quando Vinícius convidou Guilherme para formarem uma banda a partir de algumas de suas composições gravadas de forma caseira em fitas cassetes que tinham sido esquecidas e deixadas de lado desde 1998.

Vinícius e Guilherme já se conheciam e ja tinham tocado juntos em outras bandas no final dos anos 90 e animados com a afinidade musical que tinham foi inevitável a retomada dos projetos da The John Candy.

Essa parceria de "garimpo" das preciosidades em Lo Fi esquecidas nos final dos anos 90 levaram quase 2 anos e o resultado foi o lançamento do primeiro álbum "In Your Arms I Was Happy"  de 2005, sumindo das prateleiras. A partir daí começaram a trabalhar em novas composições ao longo dos anos o que resultou no seu segundo álbum "Overdrive Beach" lançado em 2008 e por fim em 2012 lançam o Álbum “Dreamscape”.

The John Candy nos seus 3 albums mostra um amadurecimento fantástico, cada disco uma surpresa, cada faixa uma intensidade. Os arranjos e as melodias conseguem deixar impressões apaixonantes. A simplicidade, criatividade e o talento resumem The John Candy como uma banda que transborda os sentidos e não cansa os ouvidos.

Who has been following our posts must surely have seen the teaser of the interviews we did in SP Popfest that rolled 24-26 August at the Centro Cultura Walden.

One of the bands that hit a super relaxed interview was The John Candy. Formed on Rio de Janeiro with Vinícius Leal (guitar and vocals), Guilherme Almeida (guitar and vocals), Gustavo Cockell (bass) and Joab Regis (drums). The band comes in 2003 when Vinícius and Guilherme invited to form a band from some of his compositions recorded in a home on cassettes that had been forgotten and left out since 1998.

The Boys already knew and had played together in other bands in the late '90s and thrilled with the musical affinity that had been inevitable resumption of projects from The John Candy.

This partnership of "mining" loot in Lo Fi forgotten in the late '90s took almost two years and the result was the release of their first album "In Your Arms I Was Happy" 2005, disappearing from the shelves. From there began working on new songs over the years which resulted in his second album "Overdrive Beach" launched in 2008 and in 2012 presented us with the release of their third album and also great “Dreamscape”.

The John Candy in his 3 albums shows a maturing fantastic surprise each disc en track by track is intensity. The arrangements and melodies can leave impressions exciting. The simplicity, creativity and talent summarize The John Candy as a band that overflows the senses and does not tired if you listen.

IN LOST SIDES - SP POP FEST - Entrevistas, Impressões e registros

Nos dias 24, 25 e 26 passados, aconteceu no Centro Cultural Walden o primeiro SP Pop Fest, e como nao podia deixar de ser o INLS esteve conferindo os shows do dia 25, sem muito nos alongar e detalhadamente comentar sobre tudo, vamos passar as impressões que tivemos dessa noite fantástica.

Inicialmente fomos muito bem recebidos no Walden pelo Cesar e Mariana, que mesmo na correria que estavam com o pessoal da Ringo Deathstarr, nos receberam muito cordialmente antes da casa abrir, isso para que pudéssemos fazer as entrevistas com The John Candy e Le Almeida.

Um Bate papo super descontraído e cheio de novidades com The John Candy abriu nossa tarde de informações undergrounds. Logo depois, por conta do volume de publico que já começava a chegar na casa, fomos para um buteco na esquina da Marques de Itu com a Bento Freitas pra tomar uma cerveja e papear com Lê Almeida pouco antes do show, em suma, tivemos dois bate papos super interessantes com duas das cinco bandas da noite, bate papo esse que você vai conferir em breve aqui no nosso blog.

A segunda noite do SP POP FEST foi aberta pela banda The John Candy que fez um show fantástico, mais tarde Top Surprise arrebentou com noise no talo, em seguida Loomer com grande maestria segurou o ritmo da noite, Lê Almeida tocou muitas músicas inéditas que estão pra sair no disco novo, um privilégio pra quem foi conferir e Pale Sunday fechou a noite do Abrigo no Bosque.

 Destaque muito importante também nesta noite, foi a presença da banda Ringo Deathstarr, que foi curtir de perto as bandas do sábado, uma demonstração digna de nossos aplausos por tamanho respeito e carinho pelo evento e pelas bandas.

E por fim, deixamos a impressão de que só faltou mesmo um bolo de aniversário pois o clima de festa e de alegria estava muito vivo em todos presentes.

We were 25 last Saturday to accompany the second day of the SP POP FEST at the Cultural Center Walden. There tonight performances of the bands The John Candy (RJ), Top Surprise (MG), Loomer (RS) Le Almeida (RJ) and Pale Sunday (Jardinópolis - SP) set the tone for the party in the Forest Haven.
Without much detail stretch and comment on everything, let's move the impressions that we had this fantastic evening.

Initially we were very well received by Cesar and Mariana, who despite being busy with the staff Ringo Deathstarr,, received us very gently before the open house, so that we might do the interviews with John Candy and The Le Almeida.

A Chat super relaxed and full of news with The John Candy opened our undergrounds informations. Soon after, due to the volume of audience who had begun to arrive at the house, went to a corner of bar on the corner Marques de Itu street and Bento Freitas street for a beer and chat with Le Almeida shortly before the show, in short, had two super interesting chats with two of the five bands of the night, this chat will give you soon here on our blog.

The second night of the SP POP FEST The band was opened by The John Candy who made a Fucking good show, later broke with Top Surprise noise in the stalk, then Loomer with great mastery held the rhythm of the night, Le Almeida played many new songs that are hard to get out again, it was a privilege for those who give and Pale closed Sunday night at the Shelter Grove.

Featured also very important tonight was the presence of  Deathstarr Ringo band, which was closely enjoy the bands on Saturday, a show worthy of our applause size by respect and affection by the event and the Brazilian bands.

And finally, we leave the impression that only lacked even a birthday cake for the party atmosphere of joy and was very much alive in all present.
