É assim que o quarteto Australiano do NANTES mostra sua cara na Oceania. Com fortes e inconfundíveis influências ancoradas no velho continente. Nantes é uma banda jovem mas que mostra muita maturidade nas suas composições. As influências do velho continente ajudaram e muito na criação de seus trabalhos. Com Ben Tennikoff - keys/vocals, Josiah Eastwood - keys/guitar/vocals, Harrison Wood - drums/vocals, David Rogers - bass/vocals os garotos conseguem com maestria produzir música de qualidade.
Para quem conheceu Bonbay Bicycle Club aqui no blog ou para quem já conhece Strokes, Kings of Leon ou coisas do gênero, certamente vai gostar muito do NANTES.
Com um EP lançado em 2011 que tive a oportunidade de conferir, posso garantir que vale muito a pena ouvir e esperar com tranquilidade mais trabalhos de qualidade pela frente.
Neste novo cenário Indie com inúmeras bandas, Nantes merece atenção especial.

With an EP released in 2011 I had the opportunity to check, I can guarantee that it is worthwhile to listen and wait with tranquility more quality work ahead.
In this new scenario with many Indie bands, NANTES deserves special attention.

Essa semana volto as origens e a proposta do blog e trago uma banda indie rock nascida em 1992 no noroeste dos Estados Unidos, mais precisamente na cidade de Boise. Built To Spill.
Na época Doug Martsch era líder da banda Treepeople e contava com a parceria de Brett Netson, multi-instrumentista, letrista e vocalista.
A banda contou com formações diferentes em quase todos os seus álbuns, mas isso aconteceu por preferencia de Martsch, que queria que cada disco tivesse membros diferentes e apenas ele como membro permanente, o primeiro álbum "Ultimate Alternative Wavers" veio em maio de 1993 e já no álbum seguinte "There’s Nothing Wrong With Love" de setembro de 1994 a mudança de formação se concretizou, pode-se achar um tanto egocêntrico tal decisão, mas com isso acabou nascendo uma coletanea lançada em outubro de 1996 que traz o melhor das duas formações da banda, chamada de "The Normal Years"
Um ano antes do lançamento do "The Normal Years" a banda participou da quinta edição do Lollapalooza, podendo-se dizer que o festival foi o marco para a notoriedade da banda que naquele mesmo ano (1995) assinaram contrato com a gigante Warner, porém com um diferencial de outras bandas que assinam com gravadoras grandes, pois muitas vezes submetem-se a seguir o que é imposto por elas e acabam compondo um som mais comercial, no caso da Built to Spill tiveram garantia contratual que poderiam compor de acordo com sua criatividade. Assim em janeiro de 1997 é lançado o primeiro álbum pela Warner entitulado "Perfect from Now On" que foi muito bem aclamado tanto pela crítica especializada quanto pelo público consquentemente a ascenção foi inevitável e logo tornaram-se uma das bandas indies mais conhecidas dos EUA.
O quarto álbum da banda veio em fevereiro de 1999, "Keep it Like a Secret" e nesse álbum, Brett Netson e Scott Plouf, membros da última formação, tornaram-se membros permanentes da banda.
Em julho de 2001, lançaram o quinto álbum de estudio entitulado "Anciente Melodies of the Future" e de acordo com o contrato com a Warner lançariam mais um álbum, tal álbum foi lançado somente em abril de 2006 entitulado "You In Reverse". Apesar do contrato ter garantido apenas mais um álbum, em outubro de 2009 lançaram seu (por enquanto) último álbum "There is no Enemy" tambem pela Warner.

This week we back the origins and purpose of the blog and bring an indie rock band born in 1992 in the northwestern United States, specifically the city of Boise. Built To Spill.
At the time Doug Martsch was the band leader TreePeople and had a partnership with Brett Netson, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist.
The band featured different musicians in almost all their albums, but it was for preference of Martsch, who wanted every album to have different members and only him as a permanent member, the first album "Ultimate Alternative wavers" came in May 1993 and already on the next album "There's Nothing Wrong With Love" from September 1994 to change the training took place, one can find a bit selfish that decision, but it ended up being born a colection launched in October 1996 that brings the best of both formations of the band called "The Normal Years"
A year before the release of "The Normal Years" the band participated in the fifth edition of Lollapalooza, we can say that the festival was a landmark for the notoriety of the band that same year (1995) signed to Warner, had a contractual guarantee that they could compose according to their creativity. So in January 1997 is the first album released by Warner titled "Perfect from Now On" which was widely acclaimed by both critics and the public, the rise was inevitable and soon became one of the best-known indie bands from the USA.
The band's fourth album came in February 1999, "Keep It Like a Secret" and this album, Scott and Brett Netson Plouf, members of the last formation, became permanent members of the band.
In July 2001, they released their fifth studio album titled "ancient one Melodies of the Future" and according to the contract with Warner would release another album, this album was released only in April 2006 titled "You In Reverse." Although the contract has secured only one more album in October 2009 launched their (for now) final album "There Is No Enemy" also by Warner.
