:: CARPETE FLORIDO ::

A banda começou em 2003 com Evandro Fernandes, depois de ter tido passagens em outras bandas “indie noise” e até o ano de 2006, Carpete Florido foi mais um sonho do que uma realidade. 

Ainda em 2006 inicia-se a saga dos rapazes e a história começa nascer. Com a intenção de ajustar os rumos da banda, alterações na formação aconteceram até chegarem na formação atual que conta com  Bingú Medine (baixo), Lê Almeida (bateria), Evandro Fernandes (guitarra e voz) e Leonardo (guitarra e voz).

A banda saiu em uma coletânea chamada “Alguns Barulhos” lançado pela “Transfusão Noise Records” em 2007. E em 2008 iniciam as gravações do seu primeiro EP que acaba virando um Compacto (Estelar), totalmente Lo-Fi  (low fidelity).Destaque para uso de microfones usados em Computadores, os mesmos inclusos nos kits multimídias para computadores, para as gravações de back vocals.

A banda traz inúmeras referências musicais, com letras falam sobre a vontade de ser feliz de vencer combinados a isso, os acordes dissonantes, sujos e melancólicos dão o tom  do velho mundo. Não é difícil notar referencias como Pixes e Stone Roses.

Estelar (EP 2008), Meus Heróis (EP 2010). Evandro, líder da banda está trabalhando em novas composições, além de tocar outros projetos com as bandas Tape Rec, Babe Florida e Suíte Parque.

Quero deixar aqui duas músicas muito interessantes,  “Em Algum Lugar Melhor” e “Roque Novo”, ambas do último EP.

The band started in 2003 with Evandro Fernandes, after having passages in other bands "indie noise" and by the year 2006, “Carpete Florido” (flowery carpet)  was more a dream than a reality.

In 2006 begins the effort of boys born and the story begins. With the intention to adjust the direction of the band, changes in training until they happened in the current lineup that has Bingu Medine (bass), Lee Adams (drums), Evandro Fernandes (guitar, vocals) and Leonardo (guitar and vocals).

The band went on a compilation called "Alguns Barulhos" (Some Noise) launched by "Transfusão Noise Records" in 2007. And in 2008 begin recording their first EP, which turns into a Compact (Star), full-Lo-Fi (low fidelity). Highlight for use of microphones used in computers, they are included in the kits for multimedia computers, recordings back vocals.

The band brings many musical influences, with lyrics talk about will be happy to win this combined with the dissonant chords, dirty and melancholy set the tone of the old world. It is not hard to notice references to Pixes and Stone Roses.

Estelar (EP 2008), Meus Heróis (EP 2010). Evandro, leader of the band is working on new compositions, besides playing with the bands other projects Tape Rec, Babe and Florida Park Suite.

I want to leave here two very interesting songs, "Em Algum Lugar Melhor" (Somewhere Better), and "Roque Novo" (New Rock) both the last EP.

Lowgold é uma banda britânica que quase acabou antes mesmo de laçar seu álbum de estreia, isso porque a gravadora estava em uma situação delicada financeiramente e só lançou o primeiro álbum dos rapazes no final de 1998.

Enfim, Lowgold nasceu depois que Darren Ford (vocais e guitarra) e Dan Symons (guitarra) se conheceram em um bar na universidade. Depois de muita luta pelo que mais gostavam de fazer, Ford decidiu gravar uma fita demo de sua autoria e pediu Symons gravar a guitarra. A dupla enviou duas músicas para Nude Records. A surpresa agradável dos rapazes aconteceu quando a gravadora pediu para ver a performance da banda, então Miles Willey (baixo) e Scott Simon (bateria) foram adicionados à banda a fim de apresentarem-se como banda.

Nasce então Lowgold, aliás, nome que segundo a banda é uma palavra nórdica que é definida como "valor escondido".  E esse “valor escondido” nasce depois de um ensaio, pois acabaram assinando com a Nude Records e Lowgold lança ”Just Backward of Square” em 2001.

Em excursão pelos EUA a banda começa a provocar os ouvidos mais atentos com suas músicas melancólicas que faz jus ao seu país de origem, e foram comparados a bandas como Coldplay e Badly Drawn Boy. Mas essa atmosfera de alegria foi abalada quando a gravadora rompeu com a banda e deixou Lowgold Endividado, nesse momento o baterista Scott Simon, deixou a banda, mas essa dificuldade não abalou o sonho dos rapazes.

Com a ajuda de familiares e amigos e manutenção de empregos diários, os membros do Lowgold renasceram e Rob Lee entrou em cena para tocar bateria e Lowgold vem tona mais uma vez para lançar em 2004 o álbum “Welcome to Winners”, sugestivo e fantástico trabalho da banda.

Lowgold is a British band that almost ended before it even lacing his debut album, the label because it was in a tricky situation financially and just released her first album of the guys at the end of 1998.

Finally, Lowgold was born after Darren Ford (vocals, guitar) and Dan Symons (guitar) met in a bar in college. After much struggle that most liked to do, Ford decided to record a demo tape of his own and asked Symons record the guitar. The pair sent two songs to Nude Records. The pleasant surprise of the boys happened when the record company asked to see the band perform, then Miles Willey (bass) and Scott Simon (drums) were added to the band in order to present themselves as a band.

Thus is born Lowgold Moreover, according to the band name is a Norse word which is defined as "hidden value". And this "hidden value" is born after a rehearsal, it ended up signing with Lowgold Nude Records and released "Just Backward of Square" in 2001.

In the U.S. tour the band begins to cause more attentive ears with their melancholy music that lives up to its country of origin, and were compared to bands like Coldplay and Badly Drawn Boy But this atmosphere of joy was shattered when the record broke the band and left Lowgold Indebted at that time drummer Simon Scott left the band, but that difficulty did not shake the dream of boys.

With the help of family and friends and maintaining day jobs, members of Lowgold reborn and Rob Lee stepped in to play drums and Lowgold has surfaced again in 2004 to launch the album "Welcome to Winners," suggestive and great work band.

lavalsa

 A idéia de trazer mais bandas nacionais para o blog tem recebido elogios e como não podia deixar de ser.... hoje o destaque vai para a banda indie curitibana lavalsa.

Com a grafia em letras minúsculas, lavalsa surgiu na metade de 2010 quando Aline (guitarra e vocal) através de redes sociais mostrou seu interesse em formar uma banda alternativa e a partir daí Luís (baixo e vocal),  Paulo (guitarra) e Ricardo (bateria) juntaram-se a ela.

Lançaram seu primeiro EP auto entitulado que pode ser baixado pelo selo Virtual Sinewave.

A banda possui um repertório de 12 músicas em português e inglês e os vocais são alternandos entre Aline e Luís, recentemente lançaram o primeiro video da música "She Floats".

A sonoridade da banda remete muito as bandas indies do inicio dos anos 90 como Sonic Youth, Pixies, Radiohead e até mesmo da banda nacional Pin ups que também já foi destaque aqui no blog.

O post ficou curto, porém não precisa mais do que isso para mostrar a qualidade e o talento dessa ótima banda.

The idea of bringing more brazilian bands for the blog has received praise and how it could not be .... today the focus is on the indie band from Curitiba lavalsa.

Spelled in lowercase, lavalsa appeared in the summer of 2010 when Aline (guitar, vocals) through social networks showed their interest in forming an alternative band and from then Luis (bass and vocals), Paulo (guitar) and Ricardo (drums ) joined her.
They released their first self titled EP that the virtual label Sinewave where you can downloaded.
The band has a repertoire of 12 songs in Portuguese and English and the vocals are alternating between Aline and Luis.

Recently released their first music video "She Floats".
The sound of the band leads the indie bands of the early '90s as Sonic Youth, Pixies, Radiohead and even brazilian band Pin Ups which has also been highlighted here.
The post was short, but do not need more than that to show the quality and talent of this great band.

Valv

Ainda com o intuito de divulgar e valorizar nossas ótimas bandas nacionais alternativas, hoje trago a banda mineira Valv.

Formada em 2000, quando os amigos Alexandre Augusto (bateria e backing vocals), Luciano Cota (guitarra) resolveram montar uma banda e chamaram para fazer parte do projeto e para figurar no baixo o outro amigo Daniel Maia e apesar de nao possuirem um vocal, foi nesse mesmo ano que saiu algumas composiçoes do primeiro EP entitulado Ammonite que saiu no ano seguinte.

Alessandro Travassos (guitarra e voz) após voltar de uma viagem no final do ano de 2000, foi convidado a fazer parte da banda e a partir dai surgiu o Valv.

A banda tocou em festivais importantes em São Paulo, Goiânia e Curitiba e tambem participaram do festival americano South By Southwest em Austin, Texas.

O primeiro álbum veio em 2004 entitulado The Sense of Movement e conta com a participação na música título do álbum da vocalista do Pato Fu Fernada Takai.

A banda tem grande influencia de Brit rock e bandas indies americanas dos anos 80 e 90 e ainda com uma pitada de Punk rock que vem da bagagem de Daniel Maia tudo isso resulta em ótima pegada com distorções pesadas e sujas.

Again with the intention to disseminate great alternatives brazilian bands, today I bring the band  Valv.
Formed in 2000, all started when friends Alexandre Augusto (drums and backing vocals), Luciano Cota (guitar) decided to form a band and called to join the project and to figure in the bass the other friend Daniel Maia, was that year they did some compositions of the first EP titled Ammonite released in the next year.
Alessandro Travassos (guitar and vocal), was invited at the end of year to be part of the band and the Valv was formed.
The band performed at important music festivals in Sao Paulo, Curitiba and Goiania and also participated in the American South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
The first album came in 2004 entitled The Sense of Movement and has the participation of the singer Fernada Takai from Patu Fu band
The band has great influence of Brit rock and American indie bands of the 80s and 90s and still with a hint of punk rock that comes from Daniel Maia, its result in a great indie rock with heavy and dirty distortions.
