Fidlar é uma banda despretensiosa e amante das coisas simples da vida, como andar de skate e tocar rock and roll. Nascida em Los Angeles, é formada por Zac (vocals, guitar), Brandon (bass), Elvis  (guitar, vocals), Max (drums).

 A história da banda começou a tocar em 2009, e acreditem, foi um acidente que os transformaram numa das novas sensações da surf music. O vazamento de suas demos fez nascer o primeiro EP da banda “DiyDui” e mais tarde com o crescimento dos pedidos lançam o “No Waves/No Ass” pela Mom+Pop em 2011. Trabalhos novos foram lançados em 2012 também.

A banda não tem muito material gravado, mas o que têm é genial e muita energia. Para quem gosta do gênero, uma boa dica para conseguir os álbuns dos garotos e ficar de olho nos novos lançamentos.

Fidlar is a band unpretentious and lover of the simple things in life, like skateboarding and playing rock and roll. Born in Los Angeles, is formed by Zac (vocals, guitar), Brandon (bass), Elvis (guitar, vocals), Max (drums).

 The story of the band began playing in 2009, and believe me, it was an accident that turned one of the new sensations of surf music. The leak of their demos birthed the band's first EP "DiyDui" and later with the growth of applications launch the "In Waves / In Ass" by Mom + Pop in 2011. New works were released in 2012 as well.

The band has not recorded many songs, but what is great and have lots of energy. For those who like the genre, a good tip to get the albums of the boys and keep an eye on new releases.

IN LOST FEST

Dia 1 de Dezembro o Blog IN LOST SIDES realizou um grande sonho, o de poder de alguma maneira colaborar com a cena do Rock Brasileiro. IN LOST SIDES não conseguiria isso sem o apoio de pessoas que também amam o que fazem assim como nós. Norton Bell, Vini Marmore, Digão, Nimbus Studios, Ricardo, Ponto Pro Rock, Art Show Comunicação Visual e E Comunicação Visual, foram algumas das figuras mais importantes que tornaram isso possível.

Foram meses de luta, de expectativa e preparativos e 4 bandas convidadas. Whyever, The John Candy, Nitrokill e The Luppies. Uma data mágica de muito Rock and Roll invadiu o Studio Nimbus, fazendo da noite de 1 de Dezembro um marco para a história da cena alternativa.

December 1st Blog IN LOST SIDES held a grand dream, help with a hard work the Brazilian rock scene. IN LOST SIDES not get it without the support of people who also love what they do as we are. Norton Bell, Vini Marmore, Digão, Nimbus Studios, Ricardo, Ponto Pro Rock, ArtShow and E Visual Communication, were some of the most important figures who have made this possible.

It took months of struggle, of expectation and preparation and 4 guest bands. Whyever, The John Candy, Nitrokill and The Luppies. A very magical date of Rock and Roll invaded Studio Nimbus, making the evening of December 1st a milestone in the history of the alternative scene.

X So Pretty

Apesar do nome no singular (she´s so pretty) a banda apresenta um "pretty" trio feminino a frente do palco, contando com Nanda Cury nos vocais, Michele Bertholdo na guitarra e Pamella Vapsys no baixo e completando a formação Ciro Figuerêdo na bateria e Luiz Arnault nos teclados.

Formada em 2008 a banda tem como inspiração bandas oitentistas sendo fácil notar em alguns momentos influencias do New Wave, mas as influencias nao param por aí, bandas mais recentes como Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foster the People, Vive La Fete e CSS, tudo isso resulta em um som dançante e cheio de energia com destaque para as linhas de baixo bem suingadas e bem trabalhadas.

Em 2011 lançaram o seu primeiro EP homônimo, esgotando-se rapidamente das prateleiras da Livraria Cultura, no final do mesmo ano lançaram também o single da música Blim Blom e em 2012 fizeram parte do line up do Palco SP Indie da Virada Cultural de São Paulo.

Despite the singular name (she's so pretty) the band has a "pretty" female trio the front of the stage, with Nanda Cury on vocals, Michele Bertholdo on guitars and Pamella Vapsys on bass and completing the formation Ciro Figuerêdo on drums and Luiz Arnault on keyboards.

 Formed in 2008 the band has influences as '80s bands, is easy to see influences of  New Wave, but the influences do not stop there, there is more recent bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foster the People, Vive La Fete e the brazilian band Cansei de Ser Sexy, all this results in danceable musics full of energy with emphasis on the amazing bass lines.

In 2011 they released their debut EP, at the end of the same year also released the single Blim Blom and in 2012 were part of the line up of the Stage SP Indie on Virada Cultural in São Paulo.

:: SUBURBIA ::

Andei acompanhando algumas bandas brasileiras em 2011 e 2012 e digo que surpresas não param de acontecer. Por esta razão vou dedicar, como no ano passado, espaço para falar de algumas promessas musicais que eu acredito para 2013.

Começo com Subburbia, banda Curitibana que tem feito um trabalho fantástico e colaborado com de forma grandiosa para a cena alternativa brasileira. Surpreende pela qualidade, sonoridade e pela facilidade de sempre estarem lançando coisas novas.

A banda que teve inúmeros integrantes até chegar na formação atual, hoje conta com Emil, Ernani, Marina Penny e Vir.

Comparados por muitos com CSS preferem ser comparados a Icecage, apesar de admitirem carregar nas músicas sonoridades do CSS. Mas outros nomes também ajudam a compor a alma da banda: Suede, Stone Roses, Pulp, Flaming Lips entre outros. Para encerrar com boas notícias, Subburbia fez show fora do Brasil em 2012, incluindo a divisão do palco com Ringo Deathstarr, em suma, Subburbia merece nossos atentos ouvidos.

I've been watching some Brazilian bands in 2011 and 2012 and say that surprises do not stop happening. I will devote, like last year, space to talk about some musical promises for 2013.

I Start with Subburbia, Curitiba’s band (Brazil). They done a fantastic job and worked with in a big way for the Brazilian alternative scene. Surprised by the quality, sound and ease of casting are always new things.

The band had numerous members until the current lineup, now has Emil, Ernani, Marina Penny and Vir.

Compared with CSS, the band prefer to be compared to Icecage, but admitting load the songs sounds CSS. Others names also help make up the soul of the band: Suede, Stone Roses, Pulp, Flaming Lips among others. To end this post with a good news, Subburbia did show out of Brazil in 2012, including the division of the stage with Ringo Deathstarr, in short, Subburbia deserves our attentive ears.
