:: THE TWEES ::

Meus últimos posts têm sido bastante variados eu penso, tanto com bandas brasileiras como com bandas de outras partes do mundo e o que me encanta é que tanto aqui quanto em qualquer lugar deste grande planeta, sempre vamos encontrar bandas fantásticas, bandas surpreendentes que provam o quanto ainda temos para descobrir. Nessas minhas buscas conheci uma manda americana muito bacana, os Twees, uma banda indie de NY que trabalha sua identidade musical nos pós-punk com uma releitura bacana, um estilo bem parecido com The Strokes podemos dizer. Mas são originais, trabalham suas próprias criações com amor ao rock. As músicas trazem  uma energia contagiante com rifes de guitarra angulares e vocais discretos.

O primeiro EP da banda “These Girls” (2011) conseguiu boa repercussão, e agora em 2012 lançaram o segundo EP “Temperamental Health”, extremamente elogiado e faço do Twees mais uma das promessas que temos para atingir o mainstream. Para quem gosta de Rock and Roll de qualidade, não deixe de conferir com atenção os trabalhos destes garotos.

Vou deixar uma música de cada EP: These Girls de 2011 e , foi lançado no começo deste ano. Indiscutivelmente os Twees beiram o surpreendente fazendo Rock na Roll de qualidade.

My recent posts have been very different I think, both with Brazilian bands and with bands from other parts of the world and what amazes me is that both here and anywhere in this great planet, we will always find amazing bands, amazing bands that prove how we have yet to discover. In these my search I met a very nice U.S. orders, the Twees, an indie band from NY who works his musical identity in post-punk with a nice reinterpretation, a style much like The Strokes can say. But they are original, work your own creations with love to rock. The songs bring a contagious energy rifes with angular guitar and vocals discrete.

The first EP "These Girls" (2011) achieved good effect, and now in 2012 they released their second EP "Temperamental Health", the highly praised and I Twees another of the promises we have to reach the mainstream. For those who like rock and roll quality, be sure to check carefully the work of these boys.

FireFriend

Guitarras sujas, riffs, ruídos e distorções, caracteristicas que combinam perfeitamente com letras ácidas, basicamente isso resume essa banda nascida em São Paulo.

Tudo começou no início de 2006 quando Yury Hermuche (guitarra e vocal) juntou-se com Julia Grassetti (baixo, violoncelo, piano, vocais) e mesmo como uma dupla, nos meses seguintes dessa junção, lançaram o primeiro álbum da FireFriend, cheio de riffs, distorções e melodias de Violoncelo, não demorou para esse álbum chamar a atenção no meio underground especialmente de Pablo Orue (bateria) que logo se identificou com aquela confusão (no bom sentido) de sons e passou a fazer parte da banda.

Em 2010 a banda se tornou um quinteto com a entrada de  Mondrian Alvez (guitarra, baixo) e Cacá Amaral (guitarra, baixo), e logo FireFriend ganhou mais um membro Judaz Mallet.

A banda vem lançando álbuns novos quase todo ano e que podem ser baixados gratuitamente em seu site oficial, além dos downloads das músicas também podem ser conferidos todos os videos da banda.

Deixando as apresentações de lado, dessa vez vou ser obrigado a deixar 3 videos, pois a escolha é muito difícil já que todas as músicas são bem legais.... são eles "Airport Scene", "Dropouts" e o video ao vivo da música "Pequena Meia-Noite".

Dirty guitars, riffs, noise and distortion, characteristics that blend perfectly with acid lyrics, it´s the band born in Sao Paulo - Brazil, FireFriend.

 Yury Hermuche (guitar, vocals) met Julia Grassetti (bass, cello, piano, vocals) in early 2006. A few months later they released their first album full of riffs, distortion, and cello melodies, this album attracted some attention in the underground scene and especially Pablo Orue (drums), who soon became identified with this mess sound and became part of the band.

 In 2010 the band became a quintet with the entrance Mondrian Alvez (guitar, bass) and Caca Amaral (guitar, bass) and soon gained a new member Judaz Mallet.

The band has been releasing new albums almost every year and can be downloaded for free on oficial site, in addition to downloads of music also can be checked all the videos of the band.

This time I will be forced to post 3 videos because the choice is very difficult, all the songs are pretty cool .... It´s "Airport Scene", "Dropouts" and the live video of the song "Pequena Meia-Noite".

:: THE ELEANORS :: Indie Lusitano

Portugueses de Maia, The Eleanors é uma promessa Lusitana que surge na europa e invade a Inglaterra com respeito e dignidade.

A banda surgiu em 2009 com os amigos Hugo Marques (teclados), Tiago Barrigana (baixo), Miguel Rizzo (voz e guitarra) e Manuel Ferreira (bateria). Constroem bem caracterizadas, indie com influencias eletro e pop. As canções são cheias de energia e de melancolia, definições típicas das bandas que influenciaram a vida musical dos rapazes. Não é a toa que conseguiram inclusive os ouvidos atentos de Ken Nelson que produziu o os 3 primeiros álbuns do Coldplay.

A banda está trabalhando duro na produção do seu primeiro álbum, mas já da pra ouvir algumas coisas, incluindo os EPs que já lançaram.

Vou deixar duas músicas que fazem parte da jovem carreira dos rapazes e aguardar em breve o lançamento do álbum de estreia. Claro, saindo, anunciaremos aqui. “Are You” (música nova) e “Manchester Tonight” (2010).

Portuguese of Maia, The Eleanors  is a promise that appears in Europe and invaded England with respect and dignity.

The band emerged in 2009 with friends Hugo Marques (keyboards), James Barrigana (bass), Michael Rizzo (vocals, guitar) and Manuel Ferreira (drums). Construct well-characterized, with a hint of electro and indie pop. The songs are full of energy and melancholy, typical settings of the bands that influenced the musical life of boys. No wonder they could even the ears of Ken Nelson, the man that produced the first 3 Coldplay albums.

The band is working hard on producing their first album, but it's to hear some things, including EPs already released.

I'll leave two songs that are part of the career of young boys and wait for the soon release of debut album. Of course, coming out, we will announce here. "Are You" (new song) and "Manchester Tonight" (2010).

:: The Real Tuesday Weld :: ( cabaré songs )

The Real Tuesday Weld é uma banda que faz musicas estilo “jazzy” ou de Cabaré, com influências electro e europop. Formada e liderada na Inglaterra por Stephen Coates carrega em seu portfólio seis álbuns, vários singles, eps e muitas trilhas em compilações. Sua combinação de grandes sons da banda de jazz tem sido influencia para uma muitos artistas 'Swing electro' e djs.

O nome da banda inicialmente era Tuesday Weld, nome inspirado na atriz Americana “Tuesday Weld” mas por motivos legais foram forçados a mudar o nome e inteligentemente mudaram para “The Real Tuesday Weld”

Stephen Coates deixou os estudos de Artes Visuais na Academia Real de Arte para se dedicar a música. Dentre muitas esquisitices que eu poderia citar em seus álbuns, carreira ou músicas, vou falar da gravação do seu penúltimo álbum “Kid Clerkenwell: Live at the End of the World “, onde a ideia da gravação deste álbum foi ambientar o concerto na véspera de um suposto “apocalipse em Londres” e o show se abre com o mestre de cerimônia anunciando a banda e o nome do show:  “Senhoras e Senhores, sejam bem vindos ao Fim do Mundo!” Outro destaque em seus shows são os efeitos visuais que embelezam ainda mais as performances com filmes e animações em forma de projeção.

Excepcionalmente  vou deixar 3 músicas, isso porque degustar as produções do The Real Tuesday Weld  é delicada e merece atenção dobrada, nenhuma música definitivamente é igual a outra, então deixo: The Ugly and the Beautiful (2004,) Me and Mr Wolf (2011) e Last Words (2007)

The Real Tuesday Weld is a band that makes music style "jazzy" or Cabaret, with electro influences and europop. His combination of rock and jazz has been an influence for many artists 'Swing electro' and DJs.

The band's name originally was Tuesday Weld, named after the American actress "Tuesday Weld" but for legal reasons were forced to change his name and cleverly changed to "The Real Tuesday Weld"

Stephen Coates left his studies in Visual Arts at the Royal Academy of Art to pursue music. Among many oddities that I could name on his albums, or music career, I want to talk about the recording of their second last album "Clerkenwell Kid: Live at the End of the World", where the idea of recording this album was house the concert on the eve of a supposed "apocalypse in London" and so the show is announced announcing: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the End of the World" Another highlight in his shows are visual effects that further embellish the performance with movies and animations in the form projection.
